This policy explains what cookies are, which cookies we use on chalet.clinic, why we use them, and how you can control them.

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the site’s owners. We also use similar technologies such as pixels, tags and local storage; we refer to all of these collectively as “cookies” in this policy.
We use three kinds of cookie:
Strictly necessary cookiesare required for the website to function — for example our booking provider’s cart and sign-in, and the payment security checks run by Stripe when you buy a gift card. They do not require consent.
Analytics cookiescollect statistical information about how the website is used — which pages are visited, from where, and whether a visit led to a booking or an enquiry — so we can improve it. Following the changes made by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 to the UK’s Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, this limited, low-risk category can be used without prior consent, provided we tell you clearly what we do and give you a straightforward way to opt out. This page does the first; the section below does the second.
Advertising-measurement cookies, set by Google and Meta, tell those platforms when a click on one of our adverts led to a booking, gift card or enquiry, so we can see which adverts work and stop paying for the ones that do not. We do not use them to build a profile of you, to sell data, or to follow you around other websites. For this measurement we may share pseudonymised identifiers (cookie ids, click ids, or a one-way hashed version of an email address you gave us) with Google and Meta, which process them under their own privacy policies.
Because of this, chalet.clinic does notshow a cookie banner. Our position is that a banner most visitors dismiss without reading offers less real protection than a plain explanation and easy, persistent opt-outs — and it left us unable to tell whether our advertising was working at all. We are a small clinic; the measurement above is how we keep our marketing spend proportionate. If you would rather not be counted, the controls below take effect immediately and are honoured on every visit.
Typical durations are as published by the relevant provider. This table is kept in line with what the site actually sets; if a technology is retired or a new one added, we update it here.

Google Tag Manager, which we use only to serve the Meta tags (the Google tags load directly), sets no cookie of its own and does not profile you.
In your browser.Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, for this site only or for all sites, and most will block third-party cookies by default. Look under Settings → Privacy (Chrome, Edge), Preferences → Privacy (Safari) or Settings → Privacy & Security (Firefox). Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop the booking widgets or gift-card checkout from working.
Google Analytics. Install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which stops Google Analytics on every site you visit, including this one.
Google Ads. Manage personalised advertising and ad measurement through Google Ads Settings (My Ad Center), signed in or not.
Meta (Facebook and Instagram). Control how Meta uses data from websites like ours under Ad preferences and, for activity received from other businesses, in Meta’s Off-Facebook Activity settings.
Local storage. Clearing site data for chalet.clinic in your browser removes the entries listed above. More about cookies in general is at allaboutcookies.org.
